FIXED PROTHESIS: BRIDGES

A bridge is a permanent fixed dental prothesis, for a missing tooth or various teeth. It is supported on surrounding teeth.

It's called a bridge because the missing tooth is replaced by a new one maded up by porcelain and precious metals (Dentist call this a crown) and this crown is attached to the surroundings teeths by another crowns. Each tooth around the missing one is called a pilar. So basically a bridge is usually composed by 3 crowns.

To make this possible the dentist have to modify the 2 surrounding tooths around the one you lost, so he can fit 2 new crown that will support the middle crown of the missing tooth.

Have you actually read this material, the english is poor, as is the grammar. I suggest that you get a professional to proof-read before publication.
